About Afytos
Afytos (Athytos) is one of the most beautiful traditional villages on the Kassandra peninsula, set on a rocky rise above the sea. Unlike the beach resorts nearby, Afytos is known for its stone architecture, narrow cobbled lanes and the view over the Thermaic Gulf from the cliff edge. For Macedonian visitors Afytos offers a quieter, more picturesque side of Kassandra, with beaches below the village and a charming old core. Summers are hot and dry, with sea temperatures reaching around 27° in August, and the season runs from late May to mid-September.
