MeteoPrognoza publishes automated weather forecasts for cities, ski resorts and destinations. This page explains where the data comes from and how to read it.
Weather data
Forecasts come from Open-Meteo for each place’s coordinates. Current conditions are model estimates, not measurements from a weather station operated by us. Temperature is in °C, wind in km/h and precipitation in mm.
Updates and time
We fetch weather forecasts and air-quality data approximately every two hours, and marine data approximately every six hours. The update time shows when we saved the data, not when the underlying model ran. We do not present forecasts older than three hours as current; outages can temporarily leave data unavailable. Today and tomorrow follow the local calendar: Europe/Skopje for Macedonian places and the destination’s own time zone elsewhere.
What does precipitation probability mean?
A percentage expresses probability, not a promise. Precipitation remains possible at low probabilities. Missing estimates are not replaced with 0%. The daily figure is the highest available hourly probability, not the percentage of the day with precipitation.
How planning summaries work
Planning summaries automatically combine the temperature range, daily precipitation and highest available wind speed from the same data displayed below them. A precipitation signal means at least 40% probability, a positive amount or a wet weather code. An hourly interval means at least one hour in that interval has a signal. These summaries are not official warnings.
Uncertainty and other sources
Later forecast days are less certain, and local terrain can cause differences. Air quality and pollen come through Open-Meteo, warnings from MeteoAlarm, earthquakes from USGS, roads from AMSM and border estimates from nakordoni.eu. These sources have separate update schedules. For safety decisions, check official warnings and the responsible authorities.
