About Bar
Bar is a coastal and port city in the southern part of the Montenegrin coast, with a ferry link to Italy and an old town at the foot of the mountain behind it. New Bar is a modern seaside centre with beaches and a promenade, while Stari Bar is a preserved medieval old town with the remains of a fortress. The surroundings are known for olive groves, among them one of the oldest olive trees in Europe. For Macedonian visitors Bar is a good mix of beach and history, reachable by car. Summers are hot and dry, with August sea temperatures of around 27°, and the season runs from late May to mid-September.
