About Malta
Malta is a small island nation in the central Mediterranean, south of Sicily, with rocky shores, compact stone towns and a long history under many rulers. The capital Valletta, protected by UNESCO, is a compact fortress settlement above the harbour, while the surrounding islands hold megalithic temples older than the pyramids. Its beaches are mostly rocky, with a few sandy bays and clear sea. For Macedonian visitors Malta is reachable by flight and is enjoyable for almost half the year.
