About Borovets
Borovets is one of the oldest ski centres in Bulgaria, set at the foot of the Rila mountains, not far from Sofia. Surrounded by dense pine forests, the centre has runs for different levels and a long tradition in winter tourism. Its closeness to the capital makes it easy to reach and suited to shorter winter breaks as well. For Macedonian visitors Borovets is an affordable alternative for skiing abroad, reachable by car. Winters are cold and snowy, with a ski season that usually runs from December to March, depending on snow conditions.
