About Vlorë
Vlorë is a coastal city in the south of Albania, where the Adriatic gives way to the Ionian Sea, set in a large sheltered bay. The city is an important historical point, the place where Albania's independence was declared in 1912, and today it is also the gateway to the Albanian Riviera over the Llogara mountain pass. Vlorë combines an urban seaside holiday with the nearness of the wilder beaches to the south. For Macedonian visitors it is reachable by car through Albania. Summers are hot and dry, with August sea temperatures of around 26°, and the season runs from late May to mid-September.
