About Platamonas
Platamonas is a seaside resort at the southern end of Pieria, known for the medieval castle that rises above it and for the long beach below. It is a lively family spot with a seafront promenade, tavernas and good rail and road links, set where Olympus almost reaches the sea. For Macedonian visitors Platamonas is an appealing combination of beach and history, a drive past Thessaloniki. Summers are warm and dry, with sea temperatures reaching around 28° in August, and the season runs from late May to mid-September.
