About Split
Split is the largest city on the Dalmatian coast, built around and inside Diocletian's Palace, an ancient Roman palace that still lives on as the old town. The UNESCO-protected core, the seafront Riva and the Marjan hill above the city give it a lively Mediterranean stamp. Split is also the main gateway to the Dalmatian islands such as Hvar and Brač. For Macedonian visitors it is an appealing combination of city, history and sea, reached by a longer drive or by flight. Summers are hot and dry, with August sea temperatures of around 26°, and the season runs from June to mid-September.
